Automation Intern (m/f/d)

Location: Cologne (Office-First) | Duration: 3 months | Start: asap

Our Mission: Finding the signal in the noise

Capnamic is one of Europe’s leading early-stage tech VCs. With four fund generations, over EUR 450m AUM, and a 13-year track record, we don’t just invest - we partner with the most ambitious founders in the DACH region to build the category leaders of the decade.

We hire for ownership, not execution. We are looking for a sharp, hands-on mind with the self-awareness to own their journey and the drive to help us shape the future of tech.

Your Role: Build the Engine Behind the Team

You'll work directly with our investment team to design and ship automations that remove friction from our day-to-day operations.

  • Workflow Design & Execution: Build end-to-end automations using N8N, Make, or similar tools across sourcing, portfolio operations, and internal processes.
  • AI Integration: Leverage LLMs, APIs, and MCP servers to create intelligent workflows that go beyond simple if/then logic.
  • Process Discovery: Develop a deep understanding of how a VC fund operates, identify inefficiencies, and independently define new automation opportunities.
  • Prototyping & Shipping: Move fast from idea to working solution. We value output over presentations.

Your Profile: Technical Builder with Business Instinct

You understand why something should be built, not just how. You combine hands-on automation skills with the curiosity to learn how venture capital actually works.

  • Automation Skills: You have real experience building workflows in N8N, Make, Zapier, or comparable platforms. Bonus: you can write scripts (Python, JS) when no-code hits its limits.
  • AI-Native: You understand LLMs, prompt engineering, and ideally have worked with tool use, agents, or MCP. You follow the space closely and experiment on your own.
  • Business Sense: You can translate a vague operational pain point into a structured automation. You think in processes, not just features.
  • Language: Fluent German and English are mandatory.
  • Self-Starter: You don't wait for a brief. You see an inefficiency, scope a solution, and build it.
  • Status: Currently enrolled in a university program (or recent graduate) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field.
